Capri
Capri is an island of limestone cliffs, two hill towns and contrasting harbours off the Sorrentine Peninsula. The Faraglioni sea stacks and Blue Grotto are striking anchors, but each requires a different plan.
The island's appeal changes with your route. Capri town's Piazzetta is a lively centre, while Anacapri sits higher to the west. The Faraglioni rise offshore, and the Blue Grotto is a separate coastal outing. Roman villa remains add a longer history to an island known as a resort since antiquity.
What to look for
The Faraglioni are limestone sea stacks off Capri.
The Piazzetta anchors the centre of Capri town.
The Blue Grotto lies on the coast near Anacapri.
Useful to know
Decide whether your main focus is Capri town, higher Anacapri or a coastal outing before adding other stops.
Check current boat and Blue Grotto access before making the grotto essential to the day.
