Pompei
Modern Pompei is a town beside the ancient archaeological site. It can connect a visit to the ruins with the Sanctuary of the Rosary, though these are separate experiences.
The town's centre grew around the sanctuary associated with Bartolo Longo. Piazza Bartolo Longo and the sanctuary show a later chapter of Pompei, while the archaeological park preserves the ancient city nearby. Keeping the two distinct helps you choose the right entrance and allocate time to each.
What to look for
The Sanctuary of the Rosary faces Piazza Bartolo Longo in modern Pompei.
The archaeological park is a separate site containing the ancient city.
Useful to know
Decide whether your priority is the modern sanctuary, the ancient ruins, or both.
Check the archaeological park's current entrance, ticket and timetable separately.
