Odori Park

Odori Park forms a long central green corridor in Sapporo, with lawns, planting and event spaces that connect the city’s everyday public life with its major seasonal celebrations.

Odori Park

Why go

The park is useful for understanding Sapporo’s spacious city plan as well as for taking a break between indoor attractions. Walk several blocks rather than treating it as one square: views, public art and planting change along the axis. During large festivals, temporary installations can transform both the atmosphere and pedestrian movement.

What to look for

  • Long green corridor through central Sapporo
  • Views toward Sapporo TV Tower
  • Seasonal festival spaces and flower planting

Useful to know

  • Walk several blocks to experience the changing spaces along the park.
  • Use Odori subway station to reach the central sections.
  • Snow and ice can make the winter walk slower.
