Plan a rail arrival in two parts: the train to Johannesburg and the transfer from the station to your final address. Park Station’s central location is useful, but it does not mean every destination is a short continuation from the platform. Agree the onward arrangements before arrival rather than leaving the meeting place undefined. For an intercity journey, confirm the actual service, arrival station and timetable with the operator before building the rest of the trip around it. If travelling overnight, check the accommodation included in your ticket; a seat and a sleeping compartment are different travel choices. Confirm food arrangements separately. Local commuter rail and long-distance passenger trains serve different purposes.
