The ridges bring geology, indigenous vegetation and traces of earlier settlement together within urban Johannesburg. A map or booked guide helps turn the rocky walk into a legible heritage visit, including the reserve’s iron-smelting history. Visit Central during its supervised Sunday session; the neighbouring eastern and western sections have different access arrangements.
