Alex Vega Key West Firehouse Museum
Historic Fire Station No. 3 now holds vintage engines, gear and stories from Key West firefighters. The artifacts remain in a building that once housed the crews.
Why go
An old fire engine and the station’s original rooms make the history of firefighting concrete. The museum connects equipment with the people who answered calls across the island, including Captain Alex Vega’s preservation work. It reveals a working side of Key West that the usual harbor and literary landmarks seldom show.
