Verkhovna Rada Building
Ukraine's parliamentary building is an architectural landmark beside Mariyinsky Palace. Its symmetrical facade and chamber dome are the main visual interest, subject to permitted approaches in the government quarter.
Volodymyr Zabolotnyi designed a building around the large session chamber that neighbouring Mariyinsky Palace lacked. Parliamentary sittings began here in 1939. That functional origin helps explain why the dome matters: it marks the debating space at the heart of the composition rather than serving as decoration alone.
What to look for
The facade has a balanced, symmetrical composition.
The dome identifies the position of the parliamentary chamber.
