Why go
The park shows the relationship between Kyiv's Upper City and the river landscape below. Its nineteenth-century transformation turned the historic Mykhailivska hill into a place for looking outward across the city. The monument to Volodymyr the Great gives those views a prominent historical focal point rather than leaving them as an anonymous panorama.
What to look for
- The Kokorivska gazebo adds intricate ironwork to the terrace landscape.
- A pedestrian and cycle bridge connection was added during the 2019 reconstruction.
Useful to know
- Choose which terraces to include before committing to the hillside stairs.
- Check funicular operation separately if you intend to use it to connect with Podil; do not assume a step-free route.
