Why go
This active northern-lake day suits travelers who want one indoor anchor, two strong viewpoints and a short encounter with the area's wind-shaped towns. Start in Varone while energy is fresh, use MAG in Riva to understand the upper lake, then climb to the Bastione. A short section of the Ponale Trail supplies the broadest cliff views before the route turns toward Nago–Torbole and Castel Penede. The full sequence needs transport between clusters; keep Castel Penede optional if weather, museum time or the Ponale walk runs long.
