Burton Creek State Park
Burton Creek State Park offers undeveloped forest trails northeast of Tahoe City. Uneven terrain and limited services make it a self-sufficient walking outing rather than a developed picnic park.

The park's wooded slopes offer a change from Tahoe City's waterfront. Unpaved roads and trails cross conifers and shrubs, with seasonal wildflowers and autumn color adding interest. Hiking, mountain biking and winter Nordic use share the landscape, so the best route depends on the season and the activity you want.
