Parque de la Muralla
This park preserves visible remains of Lima’s former defensive wall beside the Rímac. It is a short history stop with a view toward the river and Cerro San Cristóbal.
Why go
Look at the surviving foundations to picture the wall that enclosed colonial Lima. Built in the late seventeenth century and demolished as the city expanded in the nineteenth, it is easier to understand here than through street names alone. The river setting also gives the stop a different outlook from Plaza Mayor.
