Église Saint-Georges
A nineteenth-century Gothic Revival church whose pointed riverside profile closes the southern end of historic Vieux Lyon beside the Saône.
Why go
The church matters as much for its setting as for its architecture. From the footbridge or opposite quay, its vertical façade stands clearly against Fourvière hill. Up close, the building provides a useful contrast with the cathedral's genuinely medieval fabric farther north.
