Crossing at Barrier Gate on foot
Barrier Gate connects Gongbei in Zhuhai with the north end of the Macau Peninsula. It is a practical pedestrian entry, with onward buses from the border area.
Why go
This crossing suits a journey from Zhuhai into Macau without a vehicle. The arrival point is well north of Senado Square, so clearing immigration is only the first stage of the trip. A bus terminal by the border connects onward to the peninsula, Taipa, Cotai and Coloane; decide your district before choosing a route.
Useful to know
Allow time for immigration queues on both sides of the border.
After entering Macau, use the border-area bus terminal for onward travel rather than expecting the historic centre nearby.
Check current border hours and entry requirements for your passport before setting out.
