Chinchero Archaeological Park
Chinchero’s terraces and Inca walls spread beside the historic town on a high plateau. It makes a practical first Sacred Valley stop from Cusco.
Why go
The site lets you see agricultural terraces in relation to a still-inhabited settlement, rather than as isolated ruins. The nearby site museum can explain what was found here before you walk the open landscape and continue toward Maras or Urubamba.
What to look for
Inca terraces and walls surround Chinchero's historic core.
Useful to know
Visit the site museum first if open, then walk the terraces; expect exposed highland conditions.
