Why go
The garden shifts attention from the inner harbour to its mouth. Its central Alexander Ball monument resembles a small classical temple, standing among greenery above the water. Ball was Malta's first British Civil Commissioner, so the memorial introduces the transition from the Knights' city to British administration through a visible landmark.
What to look for
- Alexander Ball's temple-shaped monument
- Grand Harbour's breakwater
- The garden terrace above the water
Useful to know
