St Peters Pool

A small rocky bay on the Delimara Peninsula draws swimmers and snorkellers to limestone water edges. The shore is not a sandy beach, and cliff warnings affect where to stand.

St Peters Pool

Why go

The enclosed curve of the bay and pale rock shelves create a different swimming landscape from Malta's larger sandy beaches. A small cave lies at its western end, while the surrounding Delimara coast links the stop with Marsaxlokk nearby. The appeal also works from shore when conditions do not suit entering the sea.

What to look for

  • The bay's curved limestone shore
  • Clear water beside rock shelves
  • The small cave at the western end

Useful to know

  • Respect fences and warning signs about eroding cliffs.
  • Combine the bay with Marsaxlokk, checking the final approach and sea conditions before setting out.
