From Marbella’s old town to the sea
Marbella’s central sights combine old-town streets, religious buildings and small parks with a pedestrian link to the Mediterranean. Start around Plaza de los Naranjos for the town’s historic setting.
The old town rewards attention to details: painted tiles, flower-filled balconies, chapel façades and surviving fortress walls. For a change of setting, Parque de la Alameda leads towards Avenida del Mar and its bronze sculptures. This progression connects the enclosed streets with the open seafront rather than treating each sight as an isolated stop.
What to look for
Plaza de los Naranjos places orange trees beside Marbella’s town hall.
Parque de la Alameda has benches and a fountain decorated with painted tiles.
Parque de la Represa occupies a former riverbed east of the old town.
Useful to know
Link Plaza de los Naranjos, the Alameda and Avenida del Mar for a central sightseeing walk.
Add Parque de la Represa as an eastern detour from the old town.
