Sculpture around Puerto Banús
Puerto Banús has public sculpture as well as yachts and shops. Works associated with Salvador Dalí and Zurab Tsereteli offer two very different artistic reference points.
Dalí’s Rinoceronte vestido con puntillas brings an unexpected animal form into the marina’s surroundings. Tsereteli’s La Victoria works at a much larger scale, rising above a granite pedestal. Looking at both shifts attention from the harbour’s commercial setting towards its use of sculpture, from Surrealist imagery to a monumental civic gift.
What to look for
Dalí created Rinoceronte vestido con puntillas in 1956; it was placed in Puerto Banús in 2004.
La Victoria, unveiled in 1994, was a gift from the Mayor of Moscow.
