Church of San Pedro de Alcántara
The parish church on San Pedro’s central square recalls the nineteenth-century agricultural colony, with a three-arched entrance and a prominent tower above it.
The building helps explain why San Pedro has a different townscape from Marbella’s older centre. Its ordered façade and tower belong to the colony’s nineteenth-century development. Look at how the church faces the square, then compare this civic and religious focus with the newer boulevard farther towards the coast.
