Puerto Banús
Puerto Banús is a marina and shopping complex southwest of Marbella, suited to a walk among waterfront shops and moored yachts rather than a historic harbour visit.
José Banús developed the marina, inaugurated in 1970, around a Mediterranean village-style setting. The interest lies in the contrast between that architecture and the large yachts in the sheltered basin. Walk the surrounding retail and dining streets to see how the harbour and commercial development form one waterfront experience.
What to look for
Yachts and sailing craft occupy the sheltered marina basin.
Mediterranean village-style buildings frame the waterfront shops and restaurants.
Useful to know
Plan the marina surroundings and shopping streets as one visit.
Keep to pedestrian visitor areas; docks and berths have separate access controls.
