Downtown Miami
Miami's historic commercial core brings bayfront parks, early skyscrapers, cultural venues and transit together, though wide roads and redevelopment make route planning important.
Why go
Downtown shows Miami before and after the modern skyline. Flagler Street and the courthouse preserve traces of the older center, while Freedom Tower, Kaseya Center and the museums around Maurice A. Ferré Park pull the district toward Biscayne Bay. The strongest visit follows that east-west contrast instead of wandering among office towers without anchors.
What to look for
Freedom Tower marking the edge of the modern bayfront district
Flagler Street and the courthouse at the older civic core
A chain of parks and cultural buildings along Biscayne Bay
Useful to know
Build the walk around named anchors because blocks vary sharply in pedestrian interest.
