Mall of America
Mall of America is a large indoor shopping and entertainment complex in Bloomington. Make it a separate Twin Cities metro excursion from Minneapolis, with travel and any attractions budgeted separately.

This is the metro area's large-scale indoor retail outing, with entertainment as well as shops under one roof. It also occupies the former Metropolitan Stadium site, where the Twins and Vikings once played; stadium markers connect the present complex to that earlier use. The Blue Line links downtown Minneapolis to the mall, making a car-free visit possible when you can spare several hours.
What to look for
The complex stands on the former Metropolitan Stadium site in Bloomington.
Stadium markers recall the baseball field that occupied the site before the mall.
The Blue Line ends at the mall's lower east-side station.
Useful to know
Treat Bloomington as a separate metro outing, not a stop on a Minneapolis walking route.
Allow several hours for the mall and additional time for the Blue Line journey from downtown.
Check individual attraction hours and admission separately from general mall hours.
