Independence Square
This broad square brings government architecture, the Red Church and entrances to the underground shopping centre into one of central Minsk's largest spaces.
The square is useful for understanding the scale of the planned city. Compare its formal open space with the nearby church and the surrounding public buildings. It also connects the station side of central Minsk with the main avenue, making it a natural orientation stop between more focused visits.
