Monaco's climate and seasons

Monaco has a Mediterranean climate: summers are generally warm and drier, while winters are mild and wetter. Sea breezes can moderate heat, but rain can interrupt any walking plan.

Monaco's climate and seasons

Why go

Weather matters most for exposed stops on the Rock, the harbor and the waterfront. In summer, mix outdoor viewpoints with an indoor visit such as the Oceanographic Museum. In a rainy spell, put museums and other indoor stops first, then return to the gardens or coast when conditions improve.

Useful to know

  • Carry sun protection for exposed waterfront and garden walks in warm weather.
  • Keep an indoor stop in reserve for rain, especially if your plan depends on coastal views.
