The Rock, Port and Monte Carlo
Monaco’s broad quarters are easier to navigate by terrain than by administrative lines. The Rock, harbour, casino district and reclaimed coast each offer a different setting.
Use Monaco-Ville for the palace and old streets, La Condamine for Port Hercule, Monte Carlo for the casino district, and Fontvieille for the reclaimed western side. Moneghetti sits higher above La Condamine, so a short map line may mean a climb.
What to look for
Monaco-Ville sits on the Rock above the harbour.
La Condamine follows the lower ground around Port Hercule.
Moneghetti occupies higher ground above La Condamine.
Useful to know
Pair the Rock with the harbour if you are comfortable changing levels.
Treat Monte Carlo and Fontvieille as separate areas rather than assuming every district is flat and adjacent.
