Karaweik Hall
Karaweik Hall is the gilded, bird-shaped landmark on the eastern side of Yangon’s Kandawgyi Lake. The barge-like structure is best understood from the lakeside; regular interior access remains unconfirmed.
Why go
The theatrical barge form is a striking focal point across the lake and a separate built landmark from the lake itself. A March 2026 government report records an event at the hall, but it does not confirm regular dining or performance access. Visit for the exterior view and check any interior program directly.
What to look for
View the paired gilded bird forms from the lakeside.
Notice how the hall sits against Kandawgyi Lake and the city skyline.
Useful to know
Confirm current entrance, events, and lakeside path access.
Allow up to about one hour for a visit; an exterior-only view may be shorter.
