Kuthodaw Pagoda
Kuthodaw Pagoda spreads 729 inscribed marble slabs around a central Mandalay stupa at the foot of Mandalay Hill. The rows of white inscription shrines make Buddhist texts visible as architecture.
The inscription shrines make this a monument to Buddhist texts as well as royal-era architecture. The tourism ministry describes the marble slabs, while October 2025 government reporting documents pilgrims after the earthquake. Repairs may still affect parts of the complex, so confirm the specific areas available before setting out.
