Mandalay Palace
Mandalay Palace marks the center of the former royal city, enclosed by a moat and long walls. The complex offers a clear setting for the city’s last dynasty and later rebuilding.
The palace grounds and walls give Mandalay a physical royal core beyond its monasteries and markets. The tourism ministry describes the last Burmese royal palace here, while a June 2026 ministry report says earthquake repairs to the perimeter wall were completed. That report does not establish ordinary interior access, so plan the visit only after checking current entry rules.
