Shwethalyaung Buddha
Shwethalyaung is a large reclining Buddha image in western Bago, separate from the city’s major stupas. The figure’s scale and decorated base invite a focused visit to a working devotional site.
The long figure and decorated base invite close attention to devotional imagery and local tradition. The tourism ministry highlights Shwe Tha Lyaung as one of Bago’s principal monuments. Verify present access and shrine etiquette; the historic public-domain image shows the same statue before later enclosure changes.
