Wazira Theatre
Wazira Theatre is a restored Beaux-Arts cinema and performance venue on Yangon’s former Cinema Row. Its columned street façade and renewed auditorium connect an older building with current screen and stage programmes.
The 1923 building retains a columned façade while its auditorium now hosts screen and stage events. A performance offers a different cultural experience from an exterior architecture stop; check the programme first. Even without a ticket, the frontage is a useful point of reference for Yangon’s former Cinema Row.
What to look for
The Ionic-column façade recalls the historic Cinema Row.
