Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte
A Bourbon palace museum on a wooded hill, best for a substantial art visit with a park walk. Gallery access can vary within the building.
Why go
The palace was built partly to house the Farnese collection inherited by the Bourbon king. That origin still gives the museum a strong core of Italian painting, while Neapolitan galleries tell the city's own art story. The royal park and gulf views make the hilltop setting part of the experience.

Useful to know
Choose the collections you most want to see before climbing the hill; individual galleries may have different access.
Leave room for a walk in the Real Bosco after the museum rather than treating the park as only an approach.
