San Giovanni a Carbonara
This church near the eastern edge of the old center rewards attention to its funerary monuments. It is a quieter architectural stop than the major squares nearby.
San Giovanni a Carbonara gathers late medieval and Renaissance layers in one church. Its tombs turn the building into a record of noble memory as well as worship. A visit makes sense when walking between the historic center and the Carlo III side of Naples, provided church access is available.
What to look for

Useful to know
Check access around worship before making this your only eastern-center stop.
Look for the church as part of a longer walk toward Porta Capuana or the botanical garden.
