Boudhanath
Circumambulation around this vast stupa is the reason to visit, especially when devotees animate the square. Combine with nearby monasteries, allowing space for worshippers.
Walking the circuit lets you see Boudhanath as an active place of prayer rather than only as a monumental dome. The gilded spire rises above the white stupa while prayer wheels and devotees set the pace at ground level. Nearby monasteries can extend the visit, but give people room around the circuit.
