Nyatapola Temple
This five-tiered temple dominates Taumadhi Square and rewards close attention to its guardian figures. Its Taumadhi Square setting is a short walk from the palace plaza.
The paired stone guardians on the stair lead the eye upward to the five-tiered pagoda, making the temple's height legible from Taumadhi Square. It deserves a pause apart from Bhaktapur's palace plaza because its square has a different scale and focus. The short walk between them makes that contrast easy to see.
