Cascade de Gairaut

See an artificial waterfall and Alpine-style chalet on the northern hill, a short viewpoint stop far from Nice’s busy seafront.

Cascade de Gairaut

Why go

The cascade marks the end of the historic Vésubie canal and offers a different Nice landscape from the beach and Castle Hill. Its chalet and waterworks are the draw. The trip makes most sense alongside another northern-hill walk rather than as a cross-city detour alone.

What to look for

  • Waterfall below an Alpine-style chalet
  • Northern-hill outlook over Nice

Useful to know

  • Check access and water flow before making a special trip; combine with a Gairaut walk.
