Why go
The port shows Nice as a working Mediterranean harbor rather than a beach promenade. The Lympia basin takes its name from a spring once associated with this site, where harbor works began in the eighteenth century. Today the small pointed fishing boats and surrounding façades give a clear sense of that maritime setting.
What to look for
- Traditional pointu boats in the Lympia basin.
- Colored quayside façades.
- The harbor enclosed by its public walking quays.
Useful to know
- Stay on public walking areas; working quayside zones have restricted access.
- Give the basin a circuit on foot to compare boats and façades from different sides.
