Nuremberg Zoo
Set aside a substantial outing for Nuremberg Zoo's wooded, hilly grounds rather than adding it to an Old Town walk. The Dolphin Lagoon and Manatee House are clear anchors.

The zoo's enclosures sit among forest and former stone pits in the Reichswald, giving the visit a landscape as well as animal focus. It moved here from Luitpoldhain in 1939 after the former site was taken for the Nazi rally grounds. Build your route around the Dolphin Lagoon and Manatee House, then allow for the distances between areas.
What to look for
The Dolphin Lagoon anchors one area of the zoo.
The Manatee House gives the visit another indoor stop.
Wooded paths cross the former stone pit terrain.
Useful to know
Plan for a longer walk on hilly ground and check the route if mobility is limited.
Check the current animal and enclosure notices before choosing priorities.
Verify seasonal opening and admission arrangements before departure.
