Weinstadel
See the large half-timbered Weinstadel from the Pegnitz crossings, where its masonry lower level and timber upper stories are easiest to read.
Why go
This former wine depot contributes one of the western riverfront’s strongest building silhouettes. The contrast between stone at water level and timber above makes it distinct from nearby Henkersteg, which is a crossing. View it from the riverbank or a bridge rather than planning an interior visit.
What to look for
Two half-timbered storeys rise above a sandstone ground floor.
The long riverside facade is visible from Pegnitz crossings.
Useful to know
Use a nearby Pegnitz crossing for a clear view of the riverside facade.
