Why go
This museum day links Afro-Antillean heritage, contemporary Panamanian art, canal history and Guna textiles. Start at the Afro-Antillean Museum, continue to the Museum of Contemporary Art, then cross to the Canal Museum and nearby Mola Museum in Casco Viejo. The 32-minute outdoor walk from the art museum to Casco is the route's exposed leg. In heavy rain, take a taxi or ride-hail vehicle for that transfer and allow time to wait for it. All four museums are substantial, so shorten an early stop if an exhibition holds you. Check each current opening schedule before committing to the circuit.
