Why go
This is a place to understand rainforest diversity in a landscape that also reaches the sea. Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation are distinct parts of the park, separated by settled land and the Daintree River. The Eastern Kuku Yalanji people are the traditional owners, and natural features carry cultural meaning as well as ecological value.
What to look for
- Mossman Gorge's rainforest and river setting in the southern section.
- Cape Tribulation's coastal rainforest and beach setting in the northern section.
- A landscape with strong Eastern Kuku Yalanji cultural connections.
Useful to know
- Decide between Mossman Gorge and the Cape Tribulation section when planning your time; they are not one compact stop.
- Check current park and river-crossing information before travelling to the northern section.
