Why go
This is a good coastal break from Porto when sand, dunes and open sea matter more than monuments. The wide beach and scattered rocks give Miramar visual variety, while neighboring Mar e Sol brings a dune landscape into the same outing. The payoff is the shoreline itself rather than a dense sightseeing circuit.
What to look for
- A wide sandy beach is interrupted by occasional rock formations.
- Adjoining Mar e Sol Beach is edged by dunes.
- Large seaside houses recall Miramar's resort character.
Useful to know
- Allow for wind and full sun; much of the experience is exposed shoreline.
- Continue along the coast to Mar e Sol if you want dunes as well as open beach.
