Why go
This is a compact Kuranda day for families and rainforest visitors who prefer three focused experiences to a rushed tour of the wider region. In the current upgrade period, Skyrail runs a return loop from its Kuranda terminal to Barron Falls, so book that first and check its operating days. After the ride, walk into the village for the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, then continue a short way to Kuranda Koala Gardens. The two wildlife venues are close together, but each merits its own time. Start the loop in the morning so the later visits fit within their afternoon closing times. Travel to Kuranda itself is separate from this village route.
