Why go

Choose this walk only if you want a demanding half-day hike rather than a quick lookout. From Kara Crescent, climb the Conway Range trail for 2.3 kilometres, then take the 1.8-kilometre lookout spur; the signed return follows the same route. Wear suitable shoes, carry plenty of water and check park alerts before starting.

What to look for

  • The Honeyeater lookout opens onto Pioneer Bay and the Whitsundays.
  • The uphill route climbs through the Conway Range forest.

Useful to know

  • Start at Kara Crescent; allow about three to four hours and carry water.
