Windsurfing, Diving and Sailing on Rhodes
Rhodes offers very different water conditions across its coasts. The exposed west and Prasonisi attract wind sports, while sheltered eastern bays, including Kallithea, suit a different kind of sea outing.
The island's seasonal Aegean winds help explain why windsurfing and kitesurfing are associated with the northern west coast and Prasonisi at the southern tip. The more sheltered east coast offers bays used for diving. Pick the coast for the activity first, then check the day's conditions and an operator's current availability.
Useful to know
Check wind and sea conditions before committing to a west-coast or Prasonisi session.
For diving, compare current operators and access around the eastern bays, including Kallithea.
Allow extra travel time if combining a Rhodes city stay with a session at the island's southern tip.
