Aquarium of Rhodes
The Aquarium of Rhodes occupies an Italian-era marine station at the island’s northern tip. It pairs Mediterranean sea-life exhibits with an Art Deco building near Elli Beach.
This stop changes the focus of a Rhodes Town day from medieval streets to marine life and twentieth-century architecture. The building is part of the experience: its Italian-era design places the exhibits in a distinctive coastal landmark. Its position at the northern tip also makes it easy to understand how the city meets the sea on both sides.
