Why go

The airport is in the Cancún area, while many Riviera Maya stays lie farther down the coast. Treat the flight and the onward journey as two parts of the arrival. A prearranged transfer suits a direct trip to a hotel; a coach connection can work if your destination is served from the bus network.

• Confirm the meeting point and destination with your transfer provider before leaving the arrivals area.
• If continuing by coach, check the current route and departure point for Playa del Carmen or Tulum before travel.
• Check your airline's current terminal for both arrival and departure; older terminal and carrier lists may be out of date.
