Why go

Pick the shoreline that suits the day. La Concha gives you the broad bay and a central promenade, while Ondarreta continues the beach experience toward Igeldo. Zurriola, beyond the river in Gros, is the clearer choice when you want to watch surf or seek waves. Hills above the beaches add walks and city views.

• Use the bay beaches for a sheltered coastal walk; cross the Urumea for Zurriola's more exposed shore.
