Why go
This route connects three very different scales of northwestern history. Start inland at Anghelu Ruju's rock-cut tombs, then move to Palmavera to see how Nuragic towers organized a village. Alghero Old Town adds the medieval and Catalan layer through lanes and sea walls. Capo Caccia is the essential landscape finish. Neptune's Grotto is optional because boat operations and the long stair depend on sea and weather conditions. The sequence is best by car, with a deliberate lunch pause in Alghero and enough daylight left for the headland.
