Cascade Range
The Cascade Range is the major mountain chain east of Seattle, extending from British Columbia through Washington and Oregon to northern California.
Why go
The Cascade Range gives Seattle's eastern horizon its volcanic and alpine context. The range includes both non-volcanic mountains and the High Cascades, with active volcanoes such as Mount St. Helens and dormant volcanoes including Mount Rainier and Mount Baker. From Seattle, it is a useful reference point for understanding the region's varied topography.
