Georgetown
Georgetown is a Seattle neighborhood between the Duwamish River, major rail lines, Interstate 5 and Boeing Field, retaining residences and businesses amid industrial surroundings.
Why go
Georgetown is worthwhile for its contrast between heavy infrastructure and one of Seattle's oldest settled districts. Its first farming community began in 1851, then breweries and industry shaped an independent city before Seattle annexed it in 1910. The Old Georgetown City Hall and Georgetown Steam Plant preserve visible links to that industrial-era history.
